Game Rules

Rules_Diagram.png

- Rules are similar to real world regulations and operations at EWR and they are to be adhered to or suffer fines.
DEPARTING AIRCRAFT:

- If an aircraft has been issued an EDCT, you may use the ‘TAXI TO HP’ option so that the aircraft uses the alternate taxi route to the holding point to sit out the delay
- If an aircraft has been assigned an EDCT, it must be cleared for takeoff within +/- 5 mins of the assigned time, if not, a new EDCT time will created, and fine applied
- Departing aircraft cannot be cleared for takeoff when previous departure is not airborne yet
- An aircraft is not allowed to be cleared to cross a runway IN FRONT of a departing aircraft which is not airborne yet
- An aircraft cannot be cleared for takeoff if runway inspection or snow plow vehicles are still on the runway
- Aircraft must be handed over to departure control within 3nm of runway after takeoff
- All departing must maintain at least 3 miles apart from each other at all times
- The following wake turbulence separation must be maintained at all times (aircraft executing a go around are not included)

1) Pause/unpause
2) Coins available
3) Camera view options
4) Game speed options
5) Clock
6) Current wind speed and direction
7) Current arrival runways shown in green and selected arrival rate below. Click on green box to choose arrival rate. Selectable arrival rate options include no arrivals (0 min), 1 arrival every minute, every 2 minutes, 5 minutes, or 10 minutes.
8) Departure flight strips. Most recent aircraft to call for pushback appear on the bottom of the list. Information on each flight strip include airline, flight number, destination, gate, aircraft type, assigned runway and intersection for departure, and EDCT time if one has been assigned (expected departure clearance time)
8-a) If an aircraft is assigned an EDCT (in orange color), in order to avoid being fined, the aircraft must be cleared for takeoff with +/- 5 mins of the EDCT. Suggest using the holding points available to wait for the proper time to arrive
9) Arrival flight strips.
10) ASDE: Airport surface detection equipment: Shows the location of current active aircraft on aircraft surface. Selected airplane is highlighted in blue. Click on image to enlarge
11) RADAR: Shows airborne arrival and departure aircraft. Distance between each ring is 1 mile. Click on image to enlarge
12) MAP: Map of airport to be used for reference
13) Tower commands box: shows most recent communications between tower and aircraft
14) ZOOM: use pinch motion to zoom in and out
