While playing the game I experienced several issues. The first one occurred when I returned to previous game through the “continue“ option. Having gotten used to phantoms/vanishers, I had made sure not to have anyone without a stripe at the gate when I closed it. Didn’t help much, though. The aircraft had it all: a departure stripe, an assigned EDT, had received a pushback command as well. The next thing I expected from it was “ready for taxi”, but it never happened. E175 kept standing in the middle of the parking lot blocking both entrance and exit for everyone else. I didn’t get penalized for expired EDT time either.
The second one was when I didn’t notice that a heavy got too close to a small one on the radar. Usually I just tell the big one to go around, but this time I was too late. I quickly switched from the radar to normal view fully expecting to see a huge rising fireball on the runway. Instead of that I saw big A330 slamming into previously landed small aircraft and just disappearing from the view as well as the arrival list, while the small one proudly continued its way to the gate. The most curious about all this was that I hadn’t even been fined $1000 for my oversight.
Next problem is a short term memory loss occurring in the game in regards to gate occupancy. It usually happens when the super tugs are involved. Basically, when a flight leaves the gate and a Super Tug takes it next, any incoming flights‘ labels won’t show that gate’s number in yellow. I don’t know if the gate is taken until the arriving plane tries to park there, or I actually look at it.
Also, sometimes aircrafts can’t park even if the gate is free. So far, I haven’t been able to pinpoint the exact reason why it happens. A couple of times I could swear it’s been too small clearance between already parked aircrafts, but the rest is a mystery for me.
Last one isn’t exactly a bug, it’s more like a problem I don’t know how to solve without use of the delete button. In EWR there are two Super Tugs: C137NP12 and NP12C137. Which of them and where exactly should I stop, so the other one will be able to pass it?
